Qatar cultural week events start today

 
  • Algerian media welcomes the Qatari delegation the minute of its arrival.

  • The delegation members are determined to present events that consider appropriate for Qatar high level culture.

On today Wednesday evening6/6/2007, Qatar cultural week events shall start in the Algerian capital and it shall continue till 12/6/2007. The events are organized by the NCCAH on the occasion of choosing Algeria to be the culture Arabic capital for this year.

His Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, the NCCAH chairman accompanied by her Excellency Khaleeda Tommy the Algerian culture minister will inaugurate the events that will be attended by a large number of Algerian and Arabic cultured.

The Qatari delegation has been welcomed by Algerian media the minute of its arrival to the airport, on the other hand the delegation promise to present extraordinary cultural and artistic shows and events in order to honor the name of Qatar .

The NCCAH secretary-general meets the poet Ibtisaam Alsamadi

 

 His Excellency Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general met in his office Tuesday morning 5/6/2007 the Syrian poet Ibtisaam Alsamadi who visited Qatar by an invitation from the NCCAH. The conversation concentrated on the Arabic culture & its ways of developing. At the end of the meeting the secretary general presented a golden medal to the poet which relates to Qatar education leader Amna Mahmud Aljeda.The poet will present a poetic evening today in

Qatar national theater.
Qatar organizes a cultural week in Algeria & participates in the international congress on culture & development in Cuba
 

His Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, The NCCAH chairman shall be leaving to Algeria on Tuesday 5/6/2007 in order to attend Qatar cultural week events which holds on 6/6-12/6/2007 on the occasion of choosing Algeria to be the capital of culture for the year 2007. After attending these events, his Excellency will leave on Friday 8/6/2007to Cuba to participate in the international congress on culture & development which holds on11/6-14/6/2007, after that his Excellency will be leaving to united kingdom in business trip with a cultural delegation from the NCCAH.

The NCCAH resumes its cultural saloon by the Syrian poet Ibtissam Alsmadi poetic evening
 

On Wednesday evening 6/6/2007 the NCCAH organizes a poetic evening in Qatar National Theater performed by the Syrian poet Ibtissam Alsmadi. The cultural saloon had been stopped for several months, and it will resume its activities after this evening.

 met on Wednesday morning 23/5/2007, in his office the one million poet,mr.Mohammad Bin Fatees Al-merrie. The NCCAH secretary-general handed mr.Fatees a thanking letter sent by his highness the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abaas where he expresses his thanks for the poet for his concern of the Palestinian people & for his donation. On the other hand, His

Excellency, Mubark Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general handed mr.Fatees also a memorial gift which was a golden dala as a appreciation sign from the NCCAH for the poet winning in the contest & obtaining the title.
The NCCAH participates in the theatrical festival in Algeria
 

The NCCAH will participate in the professional theatrical festival in Algeria in a play titled as " Abu Hayan Al-Tuhidi " on the period 24/5-6/6/2007. The play is written & directed by the artist Hamad Al-Rumaihi . This play had been performed recently in the events of the Theater International Day that occurred at the same time with Doha Cultural Festival.  

The Opening of Iranian Arts Festival
 

Thursday evening 17/5/2007 his Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, The NCCAH chairman inaugurated the Iranian Arts Festival in Aljassra club.The opening was attended by his excellency the Iranina ambassador, number of ambassadors, media, and a large audience. THis Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, The NCCAH chairman,had met in his office yesterday Thursday morning 17/5/2007 his Excellency Mr.Gescebi Puccino Gremaledi Republic of Italy ambassador in Doha .The meeting was attended by his Excellency Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general. The conversation concentrated on the cultural cooperation between the two countries and the ways of developing & supporting this aim.

NCCAH participates in the Qatar telecom German open in Berlin

 

A delegation from the National Council for Culture, Arts and Heritage flew Monday 7/5/2007 to Berlin to participate in the tennis open held by Qatar Tennis Federation for the second year in Germany. The Qatar National folkloric troupe will present a number of performances to introduce the Qatari folklore to the German audience.

The NCCAH presents operetta (to you I return)

 

 His Excellency Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general attended on Thursday evening3/5/2007 operetta (to you I return) in Qatar National Theater. The operetta talks about the Palestinian dispersion, written by the Palestinian poet Mahmud Hamed , directed by Amir Alkhafesh , composed by the Bahraini composer Khalid Alshek.

The operetta included many Arabic artists in acting & singing such as the Tunisian singer Luttfi Abu Shanaq, Hala Alsabaq, Fahad Alkubaissi, and in the acting field there were Abdullrahman Qasim , Fathi Abdullwahab, Naddra Omran &     others. The operetta was attended by several ambassadors, official, and a large audience.

Weekly folkloric events in waqi maket

 

Waqif market is a place that attract people since it was established in its new style & it becomes an important touristic mark in the country that has the honor of his highness sheikh Hamad Bin Khaleefa Al-Thani special care & his heir apparent. The NCCAH participates in this effort in order to draw people to this lovely place that contains all means of comfort & luxuries , therefore it dedicates Thursday & Friday of each week to perform folkloric events begins at 6 p.m and ends at 12 am. Mr.Masoud Alsulaiti , the arts & folkloric manufacture section director in Culture & Arts administration& the supervisor of these events had said " the show place will be in the front area of Bism Alla hotel , and it will present a show of folkloric crafts & will offer delicious folkloric dishes." At the end Mr. Masoud Alsulaiti thanked the NCCAH for its support to these important events.

The Opening of Hend Alhamad Exhibition

 

The Wednesday evening 2/5/2007at 6.30 his Excellency Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general will inaugurate the fourth plastic art exhibition of the artist Hend Alhamad. The exhibition holds in the mall and includes many beautiful paintings.The artist tries in her exhibition to bring out the Qatari identity by mixing the heritage and art in an attentive fascinating way, in this method she brings out the heritage on this age of modernity dominance.

His Excellency Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general inaugurated on Sunday morning 29/4/2007 Qatar International Exhibition for Education & Development in Qatar international exhibition center. The exhibition was attended by a number of diplomatic corps members in the state, NCCAH & Qatar international exhibition center members. The NCCAH participate in this exhibition with a collection of the NCCAH publications.

Yesterday 25/4/2007 a number of Arabic artists who participate in ( to you I return ) operetta arrived to Doha. This operetta will be presented by the NCCAH in the coming May in Qatar National Theater. Among the arrived team were the Bahraini composer Khalid Alshek, the Tunisian singer Luttfi Abu Shanaq , the Jordanian director Amir Alkhafesh , Hala Alsabaq, Mufeeda Rizq & Abdualla Khaleefa from Jordan.

His Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, The NCCAH chairman,had met in his office yesterday morning his Excellency dr.Victor Tfrickeon,  the Education & Youth minister of Moldova. The meeting was attended by his Excellency Mr.Mubark Bin Nasser Al khaleefa the secretary-general in the NCCAH & his Excellency Abdualla Aljaber the Qatari ambassador in Romania. The conversation concentrated on the cultural cooperation between the two countries and the ways of developing & supporting such aim . 

Ending the Ceremony Events of Heritage International Day

 

The administration of cultural & arts in the NCCAH held a ceremony for the occasion of ending the events of Heritage International Day on Sunday 22/4/2007 in Alsulaiti house.The ceremony included an honor celebration for the participants of these events. Mr.Faleh Bin Ajlan Al-Hajri , the The administration of cultural & arts director distributed an evaluative certificate for the Moroccan & local bands who participated in the events.

The ceremony was attended by a representative of the Moroccan embassy in Doha & Mr. Masoud Alsulaiti , the head of arts & local manufactures in cultural & arts administration , local  press & several of the NCCAH employees.

Muhammad Almanai Photography Exhibition

 

His Excellency sheik Meshaal Bin Jassim Al-Thani, The NCCAH chairman inaugurated on Sunday 22/4/2007 the photography exhibition of the artist Muhammad Almanai which was organized by the Optical Arts Centre in the NCCAH &  was held in Waqif market in exhibitins hall besides the old fort .The exhibition was attended by Mr.Faleh Bin Ajlan Al-Hajri , the administration of cultural & arts director & Nadia Almudehki , the Optical Arts Centre director & an  enormous number of photography fans.

Saturday 21st April, NCCAH ends the celebrations of the World Heritage Day..
 

 which was held in the Visual Arts Centre. The celebration took place on the 18th April and was attended by Mr. Faleh Al Ajlan head of Culture and Arts department and Dr. Hamad Al Hammami the UNESCO's Representative in the Arab States of the Gulf.

In his speech, Mr.  Faleh Al Ajlan said: the awareness of national heritage is increasing not to preserve it as generations tend to preserve it by inheritance but to be inspire by it so it becomes a major factor in the development of the future generations. Here the heritage is not only the literature and arts heritage, it’s the heritage that combines all aspects of knowledge whether written or verbal, it is equivalent to the nation's brain that renews and continues through time to conserve its identity.

 after attending the Kuwait's Ninth Theater Festival. Mr. Al Nasser  attended the closing of the Festival's events and presented H.E. Mr. Badr Alrifai Secretary General of  Kuwait's National Council for Culture, Arts and Litterature, his assistant Mr. Abdulhadi Nafel and prominent theatre personalities with souvenirs. During his stay, Mr. Al Nasser attended some of the festival functions and discussed theater in Qatar and Kuwait with a number of the industry professionals. NCCAH celebrates the World Heritage Day.

In the introduction of the Bibliography, Mr. Al Ansari wrote: This Bibliography contains all books and releases published by publishers and printing presses in addition to official publications published by ministries and governmental departments.

League of Arab States In cooperation with the Association for the Development & Enhancement of Women in Cairo, Egypt..
 

and the media syndicate are organizing a media competition to recognize and honor groups who produce notable pieces regarding women. The competition aims to encourage the media to challenge the traditional portrayal of women. Prizes will be awarded to the best investigations that discuss women's issues and challenge the norm. The competition is held under the patronage of H.E. Mr.Amr Musa and opened to all participants from the Arab World. Prizes are 2000 dollars for the First winner, 1500 dollars for the second and 1000 dollars for the third, all three winners will receive an appreciation certificate and the organization's shield. A Committee, composed  of both media experts and professionals in the development field, will recognize participants in the following categories :  Television programs, Radio programs,  Print media. The competition was launched on April 12, 2003, and will run until May 15, 2003; an award celebration will culminate the event on March 15, 2003. The NCCAH arranges a workshop about the libraries standards and data centers..

  Public Libraries administration in the NCCAH, arranges a workshop on the standards of evaluating and selecting the automatic systems for libraries & data centers during the period 22-26/4/2007. The  NCCAH aim from this workshop is developing the librarians skills and abilities and training them on using the modern ways on the field of their work whether it was in a library or a data center.

Public Libraries start an early preparation for Doha International Book Fair..

 

Public Libraries administration in the NCCAH starts an early preparation to arrange Doha18 International Book Fair which will be holding on 28/11/2007 – 8/12/2007. Mr.Abdualla Alansari the Public Libraries administration director announced that he expects a great attendance on this year book fair especially that it hadn't been arranged last year . The fair will be associated with cultural activities as usual, last for ten daysand it will include lectures, poetic and musical evenings.

The second part publication of Qatari Book House catalogue

 

Public Libraries administration in the NCCAH had published the second part of Qatari Book House manuscript catalogue. The book consists of 1815 page from the big size. The book contains different manuscript from several fields of knowledge such as preachment, guidance, Sufism, grammar; syntax, mathematics, chemistry, biology, medical treatment, literature, history, translation, geography, Persian and Turkish languages. The catalogue had been made by Mr.Bilal Faraj AlSwedi and Hussan Ibrahim under the supervision of Mr.Abdualla Alansari the Public Libraries administration director.

 

Heritage International Day Celebration 
 

Today18/4/2007 the NCCAH starts a celebration for the Heritage International Day in the Optical Arts Center at 6 p.m. The celebration will continue for four days, and it will begin with the NCCAH & the UNISCO speech on that occasion afterwards Mr.Saad Mohammd Alsherouqi will read a working paper titled as ( the traditional music & movement expression arts in globalization age) while Mr.Fadel Abdualla will read another working paper titled as ( the connection between the traditional music & folkloric arts ) .

 

On Thursday 19/4/2007 children painting workshop will be holding on the heritage village at 4 p.m followed by an artistic ceremony hold by a Moroccan band in Waqif market and another ceremony hold by a local band.The Friday program 20/4/2007 will contain a children painting workshop at 4p.m in heritage village & an artistic ceremony hold by the Moroccan band in the heritage village at 7 p.m & another ceremony hold by the local band. Saturday evening 21/4/2007 will contain a dinner ceremony hold on the honor of the participants in Mr.Alsulaiti house at 7.30 p.m.

This ceremony considered as an annual tradition, holds by the   cultural and arts administration every year as a participating celebration of Heritage International Day.

Exhibition for photography in Souq Waqef.
  The Chairman  of the national Council for Culture, Arts and National Heritage is opening a new exhibition for photography in Souq Waqef. Yesterday morning, His highness Sheikh Mishaal Bin Jasem Bin Hamad Al Thani, The Chairman  of the national Council for Culture, Arts and National Heritage opened the new exhibition for photography which is organized by the
  Center for visual Arts within the Council in the Exhibition hall in Souq Waqef. Mr. Mubark Bin Nasser Al Khalifa, General Secretary of the council has attended the opening with a massive number of officials, local information media representatives, and crowd. The Exhibition includes around 120 photos, have been by 17 artists affiliated within the Center for visual Arts who joined regular training workshops. The shown portraits thesis has been varied between the Qatari environment and the different activities settled in the state of Qatar and the Arabic environment and the International one too.

  The Center for visual Arts publishes a booklet... includes some of the exhibition works of arts as the Exhibition will continue until the 6th of march, as mentioned in part of the booklet: “it is obvious that Arts conceive a means of an international culture communication throughout character formation by bringing distances to closer as well as orientating the aspects and thoughts. In according to the results it is one of the civilizations giving throughout the history.

The conversation concentrated on the cultural cooperation between the two countries and the ways of developing & supporting such aim.
NCCAH chairman meets a Japanese delegation
  His Excellency sheik Meshal bin Jassim Al-Thani, the NCCAH chairman met a Japanese delegation in his office yesterday morning 12/2/2007. The delegation included Mr.Esselo Katto , Tchecheta city  mayor , Mr.Shetwossi Moreeta Tchecheta city  council chairman ,Mr. Quomeasso Mattasso Dira , the International Exchange Union chairman in Tchecheta city ,
  and Mr.Foamhekio Asada activities promotion chairman in Tchecheta city . During the meeting the two parties discussed the cultural relationships between Qatar and Japan, development process of these relationships and finally the two sides exchanged memorial gifts. His Excellency, Mubark bin Nasser Al-Khaleefa, the NCCAH secretary-general, attended the meeting and some other high command in the NCCAH.
Heritage Village starts its activity..
  supervised by culture and arts administration in NCCAH , its events will start on 8/2/2007 till 9/3/2007.On Thursdays & Fridays , the day will begin at 4 p.m till 11.30 p.m . The events will contain artistical shows performed by traditional, local & Gulf bands, traditional handicrafts, traditional games shows, entertaining heritage contests for children. The Heritage Village became an important   destination and special place families like to visit to spend good times.

 Symposium on the effect of satellite channels on the Arabic culture

     Organized by The Department of Public Libraries as one of the NCCAH activities the symposium will be held on the 25th of February at 6:00 pm in Al-Fayrouz hall at the Marriot.  The symposium will host Dr. Ahmad Abdulmalik from the NCCAH, Dr. Adli Rida from the University of Cairo, Journalist Hamdi Qandil and Journalist Khadija Bin Qinnah.The symposium will discuss both positive and negative effects of the satellite channels on the Arabic culture; attendees are welcomed to participate in the discussions and to express their opinions.
   
NCCAH participation in the 39th Cairo International Book Fair
 

 Due to its importance, size of books, number of publishing houses participated and visitors, NCCAH emphasize on the importance of Qatar participation in the fair which is held from 23rd January till 4th February. Mr. Abdullah Nasir Al-Ansari Head of the Department of Public Libraries declared that this year Qatar requested a larger area from the fair's management to be able to decorate it distinctively which made Qatar's display area distinctive this year.. Mr. Al-Ansari added that last year many books were sold out and additional copies had to be shipped to more interested readers.

Attended the farewell party held in honor of Dr. Mahmoud Waezi the Iranian Cultural Council who had ended his term of service in Doha, in his speech for the occasion Mr.  Al-Hajeri praised the efforts made to develop the cultural relations between Qatar and Iran and hoped it will continue to evolve for the benefit of both countries.

 

Chairman of NCCAH inaugurates the Societal Transformations and the Dialectic of Culture and Values Symposium..
 

on the 10th of January in Doha Sheraton. The symposium aims to analyze the relation between the Societal Changes and both Values and Culture. Thinkers from Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Bahrain, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, France and UK will participate in the symposium.

   
Al-Khalifa attends the official launch of "Algiers, the Arab Cultural Capital 2007" parade.
   Mr. Mubarak Bin Nasser Al-Khalifa departed to Algeria as head of NCCAH delegation to attend the official launch of "Algiers, the Arab Cultural Capital 2007" parade on 12th January in the capital Algiers, the event will be attended by Arab delegates and supervisors from the League of Arab states. Qatar will participate in the carnival which will roam the streets of Algiers in a traditionally decorated float accompanied by Qatar National folkloric troupe
   
The Department of National Libraries received a collection of books from the Republic of Korea Embassy in Doha
  Mr. Sung Jin Park Second Secretary-Vice Consul presented the books to Mr. Abdullah Nasir Al-Ansari Head of Department of Public Libraries in his office on 28th December 2006. The collection consists of 42 books about Korea.. Mr. Al-Ansari thanked the Second Secretary for the generous gift which will be added to the Korean books section in Qatar National Library
